NAHBULUNGE’ is a fashion forward sports wear company, which promotes positive self images, self respect and confidence without compromising morals and ethics in a fashionable way.

The positive motivating force behind NAHBULUNGE’ is to support our primary goal, which is to foster characteristics in women and adolescent girls that exude a BLISSFUL SOUL through fashion. The NAHBULUNGE’ collection is not just another trendy sports wear company. It truly adds a philanthropic appeal to consumer spending and creates social awareness. When consumers purchase an item from the NAHBULUNGE’ collection, they will be supporting Club Purposely Created at Young Women’s Academy for Academic and Civic Development at Jan Mann ( www.ywaacd.dadeschools.net ).

 NAHBULUNGE’ is an independently owned and operated company. Our business model is to donate a define percentage of our quarterly revenue to organizations and individuals that supports and exemplifies the “reconstruction” efforts of our girls and women. Through the continued success of the NAHBULUNGE’ collection, we continue to encourage adolescent girls and women to have self love, respect and self-confidence.

HISTORY

One evening sitting in our dorm room, my girlfriends and I were having a serious bashing session and decided to develop T-shirts bashing men. We were going to be rich by printing every negative thing that women felt and said about men and wear it proudly across our chest.

Over the years we have grown and realized that women in most cases are just as much responsible for their ill treatment in relationships as are the men .

Our breakthrough came after a few painful breakups and countless nights, waiting to exhale POW wow’s with our other girlfriends. These sessions fueled my hunger to learn more about the psychology of women, the proper male-female relationships and why women react to love (or what we perceived as love) the way we do. I then began reading a lot of psychology books about women, spiritual relationship books and attending conferences. With every one of them, I learned that many of us look for a man and or other external enforcers to heal our hurts, not realizing that we are using these so called positive re-enforcers as an antibiotic for preexisting infections that they are not strong enough to cure.  Infections such as self loathing, low or no self-esteem, insecurities and other character ills, that plagues young girls and women. 

I also learned, that as women we are programmed to do in order obtain and retain. So many of us step outside of ourselves to be accepted;  believing if we abandon who we really are we could acquire real happiness, therefore often times further debasing, compromising and ultimately forgetting ourselves, our values, morals and resolve.  After many failed and self devaluing attempts to achieve this pseudo happiness, we emerge from each experience more battered and bruised than the one before. In some cases, our self esteem takes a nose dive; our self respect slowly diminishes which could eventually lead to the lack of self love, self worth and a poor self image.

In an effort to build, develop and foster a positive self image, worth, love and respect, and an attempt to help prevent young girls from experiencing some of my and countless other women' mistakes…..  
             
 NAHBULUNGE was created. NAHBULUNGE (Nah-boo-lohn-jahay) is Swahili for “beautiful one”. I decided to incorporate my passion for fashion with my fervent desire to inform my sisters of their worth through fashion by recreating my t-shirts, however with positive messages that will reaffirm, empower and dare young girls and women to invest in themselves and accept that they are purposely, fearfully and wonderfully made and display if proudly.
